What is actually different in Gray

The I-26 corridor pulled growth that Johnson City's older grid never had. You get mid-century houses on septic next to later streets that tied into sewer. A neighbor on city service does not prove your lot is. Ask, or tell us you're unsure and we'll help sort it before anyone quotes a new field.

Older septics still need pumping on a real interval. Newer subdivision tanks still fail when lids get buried under a patio. Clay still does not forgive a tank that hasn't been opened in a decade.

Installs and repairs

If you're building or replacing in Gray, the same TDEC Johnson City EFO path applies as the rest of Washington County. Soil first. Permit before digging that changes the system. We will not design from a subdivision marketing map.

Pump-outs

If you already know you're on a tank, say Gray, last pump date if you have it, and whether the lids are visible. Truck access off the corridor is usually easier than a terraced Jonesborough lot, but buried lids still happen.
